General medical advice for pre-existing conditions

We welcome students of all physical abilities, but if you do have limitations based on a pre-existing health condition, we strongly recommend consulting with your doctor before beginning any new physical activity. This will ensure you are fully aware of which movements are safe and appropriate for your condition, as we are unable to provide specific medical advice.
 

If your doctor gives you the go-ahead and you don't experience significant pain when bending your knees, gently twisting, bending forward, or raising your arms, we encourage you to start by watching a few of the free follow-along videos we provide on our YouTube channel. This will help you determine if the movements of Tai Chi and Qi Gong feel comfortable for you.

 

If you are still interested in joining our academy after this, our suggestion would be to sign up for a 7-day trial (which you can do here). This allows you to explore our courses and sample a few modules to see if they’re a good fit for you. 

 

Your safety is our top priority, so if any movements feel too challenging, there’s no obligation to continue or complete lessons involving physical activity. Should you find that the courses exceed your physical capabilities, you can cancel at any time.
